Follow-Up from Hell

Just as a follow-up, I did send flowers to the lady at the AC company apologizing. I really do feel bad. Maybe I have warded off bad karma.

I am going to hell, I am sure of it

Okay, so you know about our recent difficulties with the AC. I had no idea until Kellie called me to tell me that they brought us out a new unit. The thing is, I was a little overbearing and although I was nice, I expressed my displeasure with the lady at the AC company. She was just doing her job and I was doing mine. I do feel bad about it though. I am probably going to send her flowers or something to apoligize. I also told everyone that Kellie was pregnant and sick. Now that is an outright lie and now I need to make amends somehow. Karma is going to kick my butt.

Still no Air!!!!!!! = Unhappy Me

Well, the home warranty has no problem taking my money, they just take their own sweet time getting around to "dishing" out the money to get it all fixed! We are waiting on the compressor to get paid for and then the service people to come out! This could me one of the most "memorable" visits for my parents! Sorry, Mom and Dad!!!! :)

Keep your fingers crossed and the POWERS that be will give up the $$$$ and we can see cool air again!

Air Conditioning is overrated

What a week. Yesterday, the air conditioning upstairs went out. It is hot up here so we decided to move downstairs. Why is it that the compressor always goes out at the end of the week that so that you get that extra few days of the heat? Anyway, we are down until sometime next week. With any luck, it will be Monday night. Outside of that, we hope to have air conditioning when Kellie's parents show up on Friday (is it really Friday?).

We survived Ryan's birthday. One of his best friend's was sick and could not make it although the girl from down the street (we shan't call her his girlfriend and God forbid that they actually acknowledge each other at school) showed up to join in the festivities. She was a little shocked to find kids here that were in her class last year but it all went okay.

One thing that I did recently realize is that now that we are camping out downstairs, we are living in about 1,400 sq. ft., essentially the size of our first house.

One last thing is that the home warranty will probably not cover the disposal of the compressor, so we will have to pay $215 to dispose of it. Kellie wants to know why we can't just throw it away. In addition, how does that work? We will pay for the part (we will actually find that out next week) but we won't pay for disposal. What a racket. Tracy

Green Tomato! Aka Fried Green Tomato!

green tomato before!
\Green tomato after! (YUMMY!)

As any of you who know me, that I am from Indiana and during the spring/summer we plant a garden with tomatoes. My dad always made us wait for one to turn red before we could pick the green ones and have fried green tomatoes! Basically they are sliced green tomato seasoned with flour and set to FRY in Crisco! Yes, Crisco!!! I know fattening and not good for the cholesterol, but oh, so good to eat! So my friends, I am so excited to find a green tomato at the grocery store today! I hurried myself over to the baking aisle and got some Crisco and now cannot wait for dinner tonight!!!

Week 2 Follow-Up

Kellie left out the important stuff. We just finished the 2nd day this week and already Ryan has had 2 Taylor Tickets taken away. He says the second time was bogus, and he is sticking with it. Hopefully, it doesn't continue and it appears that Miss Taylor keeps a tight reign on her class.

Poor Isabelle. So far, with the start of the second week, she has only gotten table points one time. Lord help us all should she ever get "a strike." She will be devastated. According to Isabelle, the boys at her table keep talking, that is why they lose table points.

The best of all that is going on is that the kids are now broadening their horizons, food wise. Isabelle has discovered tomato soup (thank you Rebecca - she would never have tried it for us) and Ryan is into BLT - dry, and on occasion, ribs. Although, when we go to Outback on that rare occasion, he has to have chicken strips and fries.

Second Week!!!!

The kids dressed and ready to go for the first day of school! Nice looking, don't you agree? :)

This is the kids right before I so RUDELY woke them up for the first day of school! :) Such a mean mom!!!

I am slowly learning how to work all this "blog" stuff so bear with me! I am going to get a slide show started, but just got to figure it all out!

This is our second week of school and the kids couldn't be happier about their classes! They HATE getting up early and going to bed EARLY! Isabelle is my sleeper and when it is time to go to sleep she is great, Ryan on the other hand fights it still to this day! He can hang with the best of them and try to hold off sleep until 10pm. Not fun! But all in all they enjoy their classes and have wonderful friends in them!

Dunkin' Donuts

Earlier this year, the Dunkin' Donuts near us closed for "a makeover." After a long wait, they reopened yesterday and let me be the first one to say, how disappointing.

Let me digress. Isabelle woke up yesterday morning in a good mood. It is rare for her as she likes to sleep in (earlier this week we, again, had the discussion of why school had to be in the morning and not the afternoon). Anyway, upon waking, her first question to me was when we were going to have donuts again. She was excited to know that it was going to be today and then proceeded to tell me that she dreamt about donuts. Both kids love long johns (well, Izzy loves most donuts) and they didn't have any. They had eclairs, but that is not the same. For those that are interested, for $16 you can get a dozen donuts ($7.99), 25 munchkins ($4.99), and two bagels (not toasted, no cream cheese, 99 cents each).

Krispy Kreme recently re-opened out here and while they are a bit further, I enjoy them more. That is what Ryan wants for his birthday snack at school so, being the dutiful dad, I will bring his class Krispy Kreme donuts. It will be right before lunch so they can run off all that sugar.
